Administration Division

Administration Division of the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals is responsible for overseeing and managing the internal operation and organizational structure necessary for effective functioning of the Department. All activities related to human resource management such as recruitment, training, transfer/posting, personnel policies, betterment of workplace conditions, etc. are managed by Administration Division.  The Division is headed by Joint Secretary and assisted by one Deputy Secretary and one Under Secretary from the Central Secretariat Service.

Key Functions:

Administrative Support: Provides day-to-day administrative support to the Department’s leadership and staff, including arrangement of facilities and utility services.

Human Resources Management: Processing of compensatory and social security benefits of employees, transfer and posting within the Department recruitment, training, and development of staff.

Financial Management: Manages the budget expenditure and financial resources allocated to Division. This includes preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and incurring expenditure for smooth functioning of office.

Procurement and Contract Management: Handles procurement process of goods and services required by Department. This involves managing contracts, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and overseeing supplier relationships.

Records Management:  Maintains and organizes official documents and records of A and B-category in the Record room, ensuring they are properly archived and accessible.

Facility Management: Oversees the maintenance and management of the Department’s physical infrastructure, including office space, furniture, equipment and other resources.

Implementation of whole Govt. Approach:  Under this policy, an initiative taken by a Ministry/Department have to be implemented by other Ministry/Department also. Administration Division takes up this responsibility in areas such as Swachhta Sewa Campaign, Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters, Harghar Tiranga etc.

Cyber Security Management:  Securing data handled by the Dept and the protection of such data in an increasingly interconnected world and the constantly evolving nature of threat is an important responsibility of Admn Division and is handled with NIC and CISO.

Training of Officers and Staff: In addition to processing training matters of employees of the Dept, Admn Divn has also been tasked with implementing and monitoring training through iGOT Karmayogi platform for ensuring anytime, anywhere, any-device learning for civil service officials to enhance their competency
