Industry Facilitation Cell (IFC)

Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals implements policies for achieving growth and development of the chemical and petrochemical sector in the country. With the objective of maintaining a continuous and transparent interaction with industry and an early resolution of issues faced by them, it has been decided to set up a dedicated Industrial Facilitation Cell in the DCPC.

  • The Industry Facilitation Cell had set apart a time from 4.00PM to 6.00 PM every Thursday where the industry members can come and articulate their issues.
  • Proper records are maintained by the IFC to ensure institutional memory and follow up.
  • Since Inception IFC has conducted regular weekly meetings with various stakeholders, wherein the issues of various Industry and its associations are discussed in details for their possible solutions.

The Terms of Reference of the Industry Facilitation Cell are:

  1. To address the issues/ concerns of the chemical and petrochemical industry and taking up the matter with concerned authorities.
  2. To provide a platform to the industry to facilitate the development and investment in sector.
  3. To follow up with relevant Divisions of DCPC on the issues raised.
  4. To assist the industry in Research and Development in the sector through various schemes/ Technology Development Board etc.

To seize the opportunity to establish India as a leading chemicals & petrochemicals manufacturing hub, with a thrust on reduction in import dependency, by attracting investments for manufacturing quality products,  utilizing state of the art innovations in specified clusters, and with focus on sustainability and contribute significantly to Manufacturing sector.

Both expertise and capital are used extensively in the chemical sector industries. It is a crucial element of the expanding Indian manufacturing sector. Basic chemicals and their by-products, petrochemicals, fertilisers, paints, varnishes, gases, soaps, fragrances, personal care items, and medications are all included. More than eighty thousand commercial items are included in the extensive diversification of the chemical sector. This industry plays a crucial role in addressing basic requirements and raising standard of living. The industry serves as the backbone of the nation's economic and agricultural development and provides raw materials for a number of downstream businesses, including those that produce textiles, papers, paints, varnishes, soaps, detergents, pharmaceuticals, and other goods. Hence, industries has multiples concerns and problems where, the IFC is actively involved in addressing the industrial issues and finalizing the maters like, Production Linked Incentives, Free Trade Agreement, QCO extensions etc.
