Hindustan Organic Chemicals Limited (HOCL) was incorporated in 1960 with the objective of attaining self-reliance in basic organic chemicals. The company had two manufacturing units. As per the restructuring plan approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, the unit located at Rasayani (Maharashtra State) was closed down in the year 2017 as the operations of the unit was found unviable. The Kochi unit (Phenol Complex) commenced production from 1987-88. The major products of the company are Phenol (40,000 MTA), Acetone (24,600 MTA) and Hydrogen Peroxide of fifty percent concentration (10,450 MTA).
