Hindustan Fluorocarbons Ltd (HFL), a subsidiary company of Hindustan Organic Chemicals Ltd (HOCL), was incorporated in 1983. lt is located at Rudraram, District Medak, Telangana. The company started production in 1987 and was engaged in the manufacture of Poly Tetra Fluoro Ethylene (PTFE) and Chloro Di Fluoro Methane (CFM-22). PTFE is extensively used in chemical, mechanical, electrical and electronic industries and has strategic applications in defence and aerospace sectors. CFM-22 is used as a refrigerant and for production of PTFE. However, based on the approval of Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs dated 22.01.2020, it was decided to close down the operations of the Company.
