In April, 2022, the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals has constituted a technical Support Cell with the scope to discuss and recommend various technical issues which are referred to the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals on a regular basis. In order to have a comprehensive and consistent approach, it is necessary to create a mechanism for convergence and evidence based decision making.
The composition. Of the Technical Support Cell is as given below:

The Technical Support Cell will provide technical inputs to expedite the decision making process in the system and the functions are as follows:
- To give technical inputs on FTAs, QCOs, BIS Standards, Investment and related proposals etc. to the Department.
- To design standard templates for QCOs, formulations of BIS Standards etc.
- All recommendations of the Technical Support Cell will be discussed by all members and jointly signed.
